

Floyd Eugene Briggs, a mechanic and truck driver, passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2020, at the age of 37. The family will celebrate his life at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Hillside Christian Church.Floyd was born in Lawrence, Kansas, on March 2, 1983. He moved to Lubbock, Texas, in 2008, where he met his sweetheart. Floyd married Amber on December 16, 2011. He would always say that Amber was the light to his darkness. He loved her and left her notes lying around to prove that love: Oooga Oooga Muska, babe.Floyd loved his children more than anything in the world, and they were the most important part of his life. He was a devoted husband and father and an avid wrestler. His love for wrestling was so real. When he was in character, you did not dare call him his given name. He was Bubba Gene Huskey, and don’t you forget it!Those who knew him knew him to be ornery and funny but a caring and loving person. He would literally give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. His children love to remember him for his determination and late-night, nightmare lullabies. Floyd will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.Survivors include his wife, Amber Briggs; children, Eli Briggs, Sierra Briggs, and Bryan Ramey; and father, Richard Huskey.He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd F. Briggs, and mother, Carrow Lynn Briggs.
