Frances Dee Copeland Huddleston, 86, of San Antonio and formerly of Lubbock, passed away October 15, 2021, in San Antonio. She was born March 29, 1935 in Lockney, Texas. Frances graduated from Lockney High School and then earned a Bachelor’s Degree and Master's Degree in Education from Texas Tech University.
She married Wendell Edward Huddleston June 29, 1956. They lived in Andrews and Big Spring until settling in Lubbock in 1968. Frances had a career in Education for Andrews, Big Spring and Lubbock Independent School Districts. She retired in 1998 as a Counselor with the LISD.
While living in Lubbock, Frances and Wendell were members of the Quaker Avenue Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wendell, parents Joseph Dee and Arla Wheeler Copeland, brother Robert Copeland, and son-in-law Jose Jaramillo.
She is survived by sons Jeff and wife Shelby and Rob and wife Phyllis; daughter Nancy Jaramillo; grandchildren Michael Huddleston and wife Stefanie, Andrew Huddleston and wife Sarah, Wills Huddleston and Vivian Huddleston; sister Celia Webb and husband Hollis Jr.; three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at Resthaven Funeral Home. Service will be held October 25, 2021, at Quaker Ave Church of Christ at 1:00PM. Graveside will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
