Gailia was a proud graduate of New Deal High School, Class of 1963. She later pursued studies at Pueblo College of Business. Throughout her career, Gailia worked with dedication at Import Car Sales and Service, Farm Bureau Insurance, and Lone Star Auto Auction.
On November 1, 1963, Gailia married the love of her life, Bobby Gene Tate. She was known for her unwavering love for her family and friends, her illustrious spirit, and her infectious laughter that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Gailia is preceded in death by her parents, Flora and Garland Jackson; her sister, Barbra Dobbs and husband Jerry; her husband, Bobby Tate; and her fiancé, Wiley Bollman.
She is survived by her siblings, Judy Miles, Benny Jackson and wife Gail; nieces, Regina Massie, Jonona Lambert, Amanda Maggard and husband Mike; nephews, Sammy Dobbs, Yancy Jackson and wife Katie; grandson, Adam Massie and wife Cambri; great-niece, Kaylyn Maggard; great-nephews, Hunter Dobbs, Logan and Mason Maggard; and great-grandchildren, Patricia and Gailia Massie, as well as many friends and loved ones
Funeral services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home. A viewing for friends and family will take place on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with a graveside service immediately after.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to Lubbock Meals on Wheels in honor of Gailia’s memory.
