Gerald was employed by Methodist Hospital (Covenant) from March of 1976 until his retirement in 2006 as the Director of Environmental Services. Here he earned the respect and friendship of his employees and peers with his work ethic, integrity and his affable smile that brought out the best in those around him. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Shirley Tyner; his son Lanny Tyner and wife Cynthia; his daughter Diana Gutierrez and husband Monzy Hernandez; his daughter Shannon Minzer and fiancé Brandon Arnett; his grandsons Jeremy Tyner and Drake Minzer and his granddaughter Lauren Minzer of Lubbock. The family welcomes visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 on Friday July 13th at Resthaven Funeral Home and will gather to celebrate his life at the Resthaven Abbey Chapel on Saturday July 14th at 10:00 with graveside services immediately following. In lieu of flowers the family suggests Memorials in his name donated to the Joe Arrington Cancer Center.
