Guy Belew

Funeral services will be held at 10am on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at Resthaven Funeral Home’s Abbey Chapel with Rev. Ken McClung from First Baptist Church, Meadow, to officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday from 6pm to 8pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Guy was born on March 14, 1930, in Lubbock, Texas, to the late Horace and Ethel (Alexander) Belew. He graduated from Meadow High School in 1948 and farmed in the Meadow community before joining the U.S. Air Force; which he was active in from January 6, 1951, to January 5, 1955. After the Air Force, he returned to farming for several more years in Meadow before moving to Lubbock, where he worked for Gene Messer Ford until his retirement in 1997.

Guy married Carolyn Sue Jordan on December 3, 1960. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2010, after 49 years of marriage.

Guy was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Those left to cherish his memories is his son, Mark Belew and wife Jana of Amarillo; sisters: Jean Reynolds of Argyle, Texas, and Glenda Morris and husband Curt of San Dimas, California; and a brother-in-law, Jim Jordan and his special friend, Vivian Procopio and several nieces and nephews.
