Gwendolyn Hulme Young

The family of Gwendolyn Hulme Young will celebrate her life of 94 years at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Her family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel. She went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 20, 2022. We invite you to view the live-streamed service and sign her virtual guestbook here on this page.On April 28, 1928, Gwendolyn Hulme was born to Milus and Thelma (Osborne) Hulme in Dallas, TX. She was a homemaker full-time after her boys were born.  She loved her church and taught Sunday School classes in past years in the Beginner and Primary departments at First Baptist Church.  She volunteered in several organizations, including St. Mary’s Hospital at the gift shop, and First Baptist Church Mission in the clothes closet.  She also worked with mothers of preschoolers helping to take care of precious babies.Survivors include her; son, Charles (Christine) Young; daughter-in-law, Tricia Young; grandchildren, Nathan (Cheri) Young, Crystal Smith, Chelsea Amburn, Coby Young; great-grandchildren, Alex, Ashton, Addison, Autumn, Cannon, Cooper, Braxton, Kember, Azlynn, Gavin, and two great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Young; son, Stephen Young; sister, Frances Hulme Howard; and brothers, Kenneth Hulme; and Richard Hulme.
