AVIS DE DÉCÈS
Harry Jay Carroll
17 décembre 1953 – 15 novembre 2020
Harry Jay Carroll, loving husband, father and brother was taken away from us prematurely due to complications of COVID on November 15, 2020. He was born December 17, 1953 to Harry J. and Clara Irene Carroll.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Kathleen Carroll Knight.
Harry is survived by his wife, Rachel Carroll and their minor children Eric, Cecilia and Jay; siblings, Marjorie J. Bethke of Bakersfield, CA, Roger H. Carroll of Norfolk, VA, Thomas M. Carroll of Richmond, VA, Janice M. Flothe of Anchorage, AK, his twin, Henry A. Carroll of Virginia Beach, VA; brother-in-law, Nyles Martin and family; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and many dear friends he considered family.
He honorably served and retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant, served in Desert Storm, lived in Germany, and many other bases. He worked for the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), although sometimes challenging, he LOVED helping veterans.
Harry was an avid baseball player, fan and baseball card collector. He loved playing and sometimes coaching on the Lubbock Senior Softball League. He served as a Cub Scout leader for his youngest son and was a member of the Mustang Club. He loved anything Mickey Mouse.
He volunteered for Texas South Plains Honor Flight. He also put many volunteer hours in at Christ the King Cathedral School where his children attend. He helped or volunteered for anything and everything that someone might ask him to do; always there for those in need... and always there with a funny joke. He didn't know a stranger. He will be missed by so many!
In lieu of flowers please make donations to either the DAV, Christ the King Cathedral School or Adopt a Student at Christ the King Cathedral School.

Harry was always there helping everyone and easing other concerns. He was there for us. We considered him a wonderful friend. He helped us with both the DAV and VA questions. He always led us down the right path. We will miss him so much.

We are blessed to have known Harry, and will greatly miss him. He was a stranger to know one. His smile and concern for others were uplifting. Harry and I took pleasure in poking fun at each other. I'm sure many, many people also shared humorous times with him. Now, we pray that he may rest in eternal peace . We pray for Rachel, the children, and all of Harry's family as they suffer through their grief.
We've lost a good man.

There are no words to explain how much I loved Harry. For the past 30 plus years, I've called Harry dad. Everyday, I think of him, and it breaks my heart to know he's not there for me to call. I miss you Dad. I'm happy that the last words I said to you was that I love you.

I loved my Uncle Harry dearly. He was a great person and friend. He influenced me to go in the Air Force as a great example to follow and this set me on the path to a great career. He gave good advice and was still giving me good advice recently. He was always helpful; he helped cook at our family reunion at my house years ago. I remember him Playing pinochle with Jay on his lap; he was so funny trying to play the game and handle Jay. He loved Rachel and the kids and was so happy he had them in his life. He was funny and quick to laugh and make others laugh. I fondly remember the summer spent with him and all the ballgames. I will always remember the visits over the years and will never forget him or the things he has said and done. He was a great man and will be sorely missed by all of us.

I met Harry at the VA Clinic here in Lubbock when I started volunteering there. Harry didn't know a stranger and always had time for a quick chat, to tell a story or share a joke. He also talked a lot about his family. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He will be missed. Prayers to Rachel and the children. May your faith in God carry you thru the days ahead.

My memories of Harry extend to the playing field, but also for his sense of humor. He played hard but fair and was a good teammate to everyone. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him , shared his friendship , and his love of the Lord. Prayers of hope to his family; may he rest in peace!

I was stationed at Cannon AFB, NM with Harry. We were very good friends and knew each other’s families.
He was a very outgoing person always looking for the fun in everything.
I am very saddened to hear of his passing at such a young age.
May he Rest In Peace.
I wish his family and friends God’s blessings for comfort during these difficult times.🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
