

Herman Haskell Boatmun, 68, of Lubbock, passed away on April 7, 2011. Graveside services will take place on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at 3:30 PM, in Resthaven Memorial Park followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM in the Abbey Chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dudley Sharp, Stephen Sims, Wes Boatmun, Randy Collins, Dave Matthiesen, Charlie Shira, and Gene Isaacs. Visitation will held on Saturday from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home. Herman was born December 11, 1942 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Bryan and Mattie Kennedy Boatmun. Herman is a veteran of the U.S. Army and attended Peacock High School, South Plains College and Texas Tech University. Herman served as Internal Auditor for the City of Midland and Lubbock and Director of Internal Audit for Texas Woman’s University. He has resided in Lubbock since his retirement in 2009. He is a member of First Baptist Church, the Bible Beltz Sunday School Class, and the D.A.V. Chapter 44.
Herman is survived by his wife of 44 years, Deanna, daughter Karen and her husband Stephen Sims, granddaughter Emily and grandson Avery. He is also survived by brothers Harold and Dewey Boatmun, sisters Sherry Francis Rogers and Bethel Boatmun, Mother-in-law Norma Small, sisters-in-law Kathy and husband, Randy Collins and Lori and husband, Larry Schwarz, brother-in-law Joe Small, as well as many nieces and nephews.
