Irene Beaudoin Howard, 84, of Lubbock, passed away on April 7, 2024 surrounded by family. Irene was born in Ralls, Texas on May 12, 1939 to Loma Keele Edwards and Charles Edwards. She graduated from Ralls High School and attended Draughon’s Business College in Lubbock. Irene married Joseph Beaudoin on June 11, 1960 in Cone, Texas. They had two sons, Charles and Donald. Irene and Joseph were married until his death on October 3, 1994. In 1999 she was married to Josh Howard until his death on April 15, 2008. Irene’s career was in Civil Service at Reese Air Force Base where she retired after more than 30 years of service. After retirement she became involved with Meals on Wheels where she delivered meals for many years. She also worked at Children’s Enterprises for a time. Irene loved to travel. She went on multiple road trips in the car and RV to go fishing, see the bluebonnets, and spend time in the mountains especially Ruidoso. She also enjoyed her time in Hawaii and cruise to Alaska. Irene is a Christian and enjoyed attending worship services when she was able to. She loved her family and was always there with encouragement and support for many school, sports, and extracurricular activities. Family left to cherish her memory are: children, Charles Beaudoin and wife Virginia, Donald Beaudoin and wife Deborah; grandchildren, Austin, Lauren, and Landon Beaudoin, Danielle Melton and husband Rustin, Dakota Beaudoin and wife Abi; great grandchild Onyx Beaudoin; sister-in-law, Norma Edwards; nephew, Michael Edwards; and niece Aimee Runnels; as well as extended family and friends. Others who preceded her in death were her father, Charles and mother, Loma Edwards; brother, Wesley Edwards; and her favorite companion, Spanky. Visitation will be held 4-7 pm Friday April 12, 2024. Service will be at 10 am Saturday April 13, 2024. Both are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home
