Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 1:30 pm at Forrest Heights United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 6-8 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home.
James was born on May 18, 1959 in Lubbock to Bill and Val Hewett. He graduated from Coronado High School in 1977. He then attended Texas Tech and was a member of the Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity. He loved going camping, being in the mountains and spinning around on the dance floor to country music.
James is survived by one daughter; Jamie (Nick) and grandson Riley Travis, of Lubbock, one son; Steven Hewett, of College Station, parents, Bill and Val Hewett of Lubbock, one brother; Ron Hewett of Lubbock, one sister; Sandra Hewett of Lubbock, Grandmother: Ione Hewett of Carrollton, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by Grandparents, Russell G. Hewett, James B and Martha Airhart.
