

Jamie Ruth Lynch, 89, of Lubbock, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 in Lubbock. She was born in Mountain View, Oklahoma, on October 4, 1927 to Benjamin and Ellie Butler. Jamie had three sisters: Lova Lynch, Alta Helvey, and Annie Walters. Jamie began school in Cowden, Oklahoma, and moved to Morton, Texas, during high school, where she graduated. She was married to Gilbert “Perk” Powers Lynch on February 2, 1946. They were married for nearly 42 years. Jamie and Perk farmed in Cochran County until 1965 when they moved to Lubbock. Jamie graduated from Methodist Hospital LVN School in 1968. She worked in the Critical Care Unit of Methodist Hospital and at John Knox Village. Jamie loved to sew, do crafts, garden, and sing, but above all she loved to tell others about Jesus. She considered family and friends blessings from God. She is survived by her children; daughters, Sherry Grusendorf and husband James, Nancy Cross and husband Bill, Betty Kernell and husband Butch, Wanda Bragg-Dupree and husband Dusty, and son, Michael Lynch and wife Julie. Jamie is also survived by her grandchildren; Greg Grusendorf and wife Melanie, Phillip Nieman and wife Leah, Lisa Kernell, Monte Kernell and wife Angie, Renee Kernell Andrew and husband Jason, Craig Bragg and wife Heather, David Bragg and wife Cara, Lana Dupree Gibbs and husband Scott, Jill Dupree Piersall and husband Matt, Ellen Lynch Quigley and husband Don, Elizabeth Lynch and Andrew Lynch; 18 great grandchildren; and bonus family, Randy Bailey, Geoffrey Bailey, TJ and Meredith Fly, and Lara Fly.Jamie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, son-in-law Joe Bragg, granddaughter Melissa Grusendorf Canale, and bonus family member Jennie Bailey.
