Jane Farrell passed away peacefully in her sleep while visiting her daughters in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born on April 25, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, to Patsy and George Farrell. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Lubbock, Texas, where Jane made her home for the rest of her life.
A proud member of the Coronado High School Class of 1977, Jane went on to attend the Covenant School of Nursing, where she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing. She began her career as an RN with Methodist Hospital in August 1992 with promotion to Manager in 2001. Her last 14 years of experience were spent at Covenant Lakeside and Covenant Children’s. Jane retired on July 28, 2024. Her compassion, professionalism, and gentle spirit touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues over the years.
Jane never married, but her greatest joy came with the birth of her twin daughters, Abbie and Katie, on January 13, 1996. She was a devoted and loving mother whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering support will be deeply missed. Jane will also be remembered for her caring disposition and her lifelong love of her dogs.
Jane is survived by her daughters, Abbie Farrell and Katie Knop (husband Harrison Knop) both of Fort Worth, Texas and by her loving family, including Steven Farrell (wife Wendy), Miles Farrell, (wife Monica), Elizabeth Farrell, Engin Toper (wife Raquel), Amber Toper, Douglas Farrell (wife Kina), Mallory Farrell (partner Chance Beach), David Farrell (wife Dana), Grant Farrell (wife Phylecia), Taylor Hill (husband Ryan), Susan Farrell, Ari Farrell, and Maggie Farrell. Pallbearers will be Steven Farrell, Douglas Farrell, David Farrell, Grant Farrell, Miles Farrell, and Ari Farrell.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock. Funeral services will follow on Monday, November 10, at 10:00 a.m.
Jane’s family would like to thank all who knew and loved her for their kindness and support during this time. She will be remembered always for her gentle heart, her dedication to others, and the love she shared with those around her.
