Jerry Don Scott went to Heaven on May 25,2023, at the age of 82. Jerry made a great impact on everyone he knew and loved. He never met a stranger and was quick to lend a helping hand and whatever tool was needed for the job! Harbor Freight will miss him greatly! Jerry was born March 1,1941 to Ruth and Taylor Scott. He married the love of his life Yuton Barnett, more than 63 years ago.
Jerry Worked for Southwestern Bell for almost 40 years, but that wasn't the sum total of his career. He was anything from a plumber to a carpenter and could fix anything with rubber bands and string. After retiring from SWB he worked for Lone Star Car Auction to satisfy another love of his...VEHICLES! For many years, Jerry was a member of the Slaton Lions Club and served in many roles, including president.
Jerry loved camping and spending time drinking coffee with his friends, but most of all, Jerry loved his family! Family events found him sitting around telling bigger and better stories than the last. His three favorite grandsons thought the world of their Grumpy! He went to concerts at the coldest times of the year and swim meets in the hottest summers. They knew if there was a problem, they could call their Grumpy and he would move Heaven and Earth to fix it for them!
Jerry leaves behind his bride of 63 years, Yuton Scott; his daughter and son-in-law Ginny and Lee Franks; his grandsons: Harrison (27) and wife Isabella (25), Carter (24) and Landon (21); his favorite little Blossom who was his scooter riding and lap buddy; and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila; his mom, Ruth Scott; his dad, Taylor Scott;
his brother, Jimmy Scott; sister-in-law Patricia Scott; his sister Mildred Cox, and brother-in-law
Wayne Cox.
