Jerry Wayne Thorn was born on January 6, 1937, to Marshall and Lorene Thorn in Frederick, Oklahoma. He graduated from Frederick High School in1955 and attended the University of Oklahoma. He married Barbara Burns in 1955 and they had 2 daughters. Jerry was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lubbock and a member of the Samaritan Class. He was blessed by many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Lorene Thorn, and his wife of 65 years, Barbara.
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Terri Gillam and Laurie Thorn; grandson Alex and wife Maria; granddaughter Abby and husband Kyle, and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Ford Chapel at First Baptist Church at 2201 Broadway Ave.
