Jim C. Settle

Jim C. Settle, 92 of Lubbock, Texas passed away on Thursday June 22, 2023. He was born on August 9, 1930 in Plainview, Texas to the late C.E. (Bud) & Lois Settle. Jim married Elizabeth Lester on November 9, 1951 in Lockney, Texas they were married for 65 years.

Mr. Settle was a firefighter in Lubbock, Texas from December1, 1960 – December 11, 1992. He retired as a captain. He started Settle Fence Co in 1964. Jim & Elizabeth loved to travel & traveled the entire continental US & 7 provinces of Canada in their RV. They flew to Hawaii & took an Alaskan cruise. Jim loved his family, especially his grandchildren & great-grandchildren. He had a heart of gold & would help anyone he could.

He is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Settle, his parents, 1 sister, & 6 brothers.

Those left to cherish Mr. Settles memory is his daughter Glenda Whitefield (Mike) & his son Jimmy Settle (Rhonda). He was also blessed with 4 grandchildren: Shanna Sanders (Dusty), Jeremy Whitefield (Jennie), Dusty Settle (Ashley) & Cody Settle. To add to the blessing he had 6 great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Hunter, Westley, Emma, Joe & Aiden. He is also survived by 1 Sister Eula Allstun of Lufkin, Texas.
