The youngest of five children, JoAnn was born in Slaton, Texas on December 28,1934 to Hilda and Erwin Reissig. Her father passed away just 3 months later. She attended school in Slaton, graduating from Slaton High School in May 1952. JoAnn became the forever "young bride," marrying Lee Dillard on February 5,1955 in Slaton, TX, and later having six children.
While still in high school, JoAnn's first job was at the Buick House in Slaton. She then worked at the Plains Coop Oil Mill, in Lubbock, hitching a ride with a friend to & from Slaton, as JoAnn did not own a car. While working for American Greetings, she stocked greeting cards around town. She kept several children in her home, loving them as her own. Lee and JoAnn opened Jolee's Bridal and First Class Formal Wear in 1986, running it for 12 years, finally closing its doors in 1998.
Between kids and grandkids, JoAnn led a busy life attending all sorts of events, including football, baseball, basketball, soccer, golf, cheer, drama, dance, swimming, cheerleading and stock shows. Boys little league baseball did not scare her one bit, as she often filled in as "coach" when her husband Lee was called out for work. She volunteered with the Girl Scouts as troop leader and as cookie chairwoman. She also volunteered at St Mary's Hospital as a "Rose Lady." JoAnn has been an avid member of the Christ the King Catholic Church, also serving for the women's organization.
JoAnn and Lee made many vacation memories with their children as they traveled around in the famous "Blue Bird Bus," often being mistaken for a famous musical group! Upon retirement, they purchased a house at Possum Kingdom Lake where they enjoyed countless weeks and weekends with kids and grandkids.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband Lee Dillard, granddaughter Courtny Dillard, brothers Alfred Reissig and Jake Reissig.
Those left to cherish her sweet memories include children: Dale and Rhonda Dillard of Lubbock; Mark and Mary Dillard of Belton; Karen Dillard, Phyllis Dillard, Karla and Breck Colquett and Scott and Julie Dillard, all of Lubbock.

These ladies, otherwise known as "angels on earth" assisted with JoAnn these past several months. The three of them filled JoAnn's last days with love and tender loving care. The family could not have done it without them.
