

The family of Johnny Anderson will celebrate his life of 75 years at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the New Home Baptist Church. His family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, May 30, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. He passed on Thursday, May 26, 2022. We invite you to view the live-streamed service on this page and sign his virtual guestbook.On September 22, 1946, John Bart was born to Bart and Thelma Anderson in Lubbock, TX. Johnny attended school in O’Donnell, TX where he graduated in 1965. He married Janney Seale of Lubbock on September 3, 1970, and they moved to O’Donnell where Johnny would farm with his dad and they would raise their family.During his early years, Johnny was an active member of the First Baptist Church in O’Donnell serving as the R.A. Director as well as the Baptist Brotherhood Director. He also was an avid supporter of the various activities that his children participated in at O’Donnell ISD. Outside of church and school, Johnny was involved in local 4H and FFA chapter programs that his children also participated in including play days and stock shows.Johnny worked for Plains Cotton Growers for 31 years traveling well over a million miles on the roads of the South Plains visiting cotton gins. He was honored to have received the Texas Agricultural Cooperative Council’s Distinguished Service Award. The Senate of the state of Texas also passed a resolution recognizing his contributions to the Texas Cotton Industry. As his time with PCG was ending and retirement was nearing, Johnny and Janney moved from O’Donnell to southern Lubbock County to be closer to their kids and grandkids.Survivors include his wife, Janney Anderson; their children, Sha’Lyn (Shane) Moore and Shawn (Heather) Anderson; grandchildren, Jordan Moore, Tate Anderson, Rhett Anderson, and Beau Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents; Bart and Thelma Anderson; and his brother, Sammy Anderson.
