

Joseph Clayton York, 86, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on February 5, 2025. He was born on May 1, 1938, in Oktaha, Oklahoma, to Joe and Eva York. He later graduated from Tipton High School in the class of 1956.
On December 3, 1961, Joseph married his beloved wife, Frances York. Together, they built a life filled with love and family, raising two sons, Jeffrey Clayton and Robert Wade York. Joseph was the proud owner and operator of York Exterminating and a dedicated member of Hub City church of Christ. Known for his vivid imagination and talent for storytelling, he brought joy and laughter to those around him.
Joseph is preceded in death by his wife Frances York; his parents Joe and Eva York; and his brother John York.
He is survived by his sister, Faye Hurley, of Palm City, Florida; and sons, Jeffrey Clayton York and wife, Karen, of Lubbock, Texas, and Robert Wade York and wife, Cindy, of Lubbock, Texas. He also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Robert Joey York of Lubbock, Texas; Taylor James York of Seattle, Washington; Kristen Dené York of College Station, Texas; and Deaven Alan York of Lubbock, Texas; as well as four great-grandchildren: London, Carson, Greyson, and Jaxon.
In honor of Joseph’s memory, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Tipton Children’s Home at 1000 N. Broadway Ave., Tipton, Oklahoma 73570.
