Judith Adrian Blakey

She graduated from Wichita Falls High School and then from Texas Tech University. Judi first became a Sixth grade teacher at Rush Elementary in Lubbock and then a homemaker for many years before becoming the Director of Healthy Communities at Covenant Health System.

She was a 50 year member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

A lifetime of volunteer service in Lubbock included President of The Junior League of Lubbock, Board President of Family Guidance & Outreach Center of Lubbock, board member of Lubbock Power & Light, board member of Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Texas Tech University, board member of St. Mary's Hospital, Lubbock United Neighborhood Association, Hospice of Lubbock, United Way of Lubbock, Women's Protective Services, Children's Advocacy and she served on the Alter Guild at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

Judi was honored as a YWCA Woman of Excellence and Altrusa Woman of the year.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister.

She is survived by her beloved husband, John Blakey; sons Clint Blakey and wife Anita of Lubbock and David Blakey and wife Marnie of Irvine CA., and the joys of her life, her grandchildren Dylan, Mitchell, Adrian and Everett.

Memorial services are Monday, October 19, 2015 at 10 am at St. Paul’s on the Plains Episcopal Church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to The Family Guidance and Outreach Center of Lubbock.
