Services for June Box, 74, of Lubbock, will be at 1 pm on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Entombment will be in Resthaven’s Mausoleum. June passed away on Saturday, December 3rd .
June was born on April 26, 1937 in Ralls, TX to John and Jeanie Forbes. She attended Lubbock High School and married John D. Box in 1954 in Lubbock. She and her husband owned and operated John Box Drilling and Boxco Transportation. She was a Charter Member of Southcrest Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997.
Survivors include three sons, Ricky and wife, Donna, Dewayne and wife Vicki, and Mike and wife, Teresa, all of Lubbock; grandsons, Sammy Smith, Bryan and wife Evyn Box, Michael and wife Miranda Box, Jay and wife, Haley Box; granddaughter, Jamie Winters and husband Wade; great grandchildren, Leah, Amberly, Brody, and Bliss.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 7-9 pm. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society or VistaCare Hospice.
