Kathleen attended Hereford High School and graduated in the class of 1947. She later went on to obtain her nursing license from St. Anthony’s and began her career in nursing working in Clovis and then Hereford as a registered nurse.
Kathleen married the love of her life Wade Thompson on June 8, 1954, together they had 3 children. She was a proud member of Highland Baptist Church and had a passion for her family. Kathleen will always be remembered for her work as a greeter, a Sunday school teacher and in the baby closet.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade H. Thompson, her son, Steven Mark Thompson and her great grandson, Dominic Thompson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kathy Ann Hagstrom, her son, Jeffery Scott Thompson and wife Lezli, her daughter-in-law Terri Thompson, her sister, Ida Rae Gonzalez, her grandchildren, Timothy Michael Tapp and wife Amy, William Carl Tapp and wife Brandee, Brandon Kyle Tapp and wife Cheryl, Matthew David Hagstrom and wife Ryann, Samantha Thompson, Trent A. Thompson and wife Nikki, Taylor Thompson and wife Ashley, Amanda Thompson, Jacob Thompson and wife Aimee, Sheridan Aland and husband Isaac and Caleb Thompson, great grandchildren, Hailey Tapp, Tanner Tapp, Hayden Tapp, Astyn Tapp, Mallory Tapp, William Tapp, Cobie Hagstrom, Beau Hagstrom, Aurora Thompson, Mark Thompson, Charlotte Thompson, Benjamin Thompson, Sammy Thompson, Joey Thompson, Savon Thompson, Terrence Thompson, Grace Thompson, Shia Thompson, Elora Thompson and Evan Aland.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2024, at Resthaven Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2024, in Resthaven Memorial Park. Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be Tim Tapp, Billy Tapp, Brandon Tapp, Matthew Hagstrom, Jacob Thompson, Trent Thompson, Taylor Thompson and Caleb Thompson.
