Katie MaKenzie Richolson

Katie "MaKenzie" Richolson passed away on May 8, 2025, in Big Spring, Texas, at the age of 34. Born on July 26, 1990, in Lubbock, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Lance Richolson and Misty Jenkins.

MaKenzie graduated from Brownfield High School in 2008. A dedicated and hardworking individual, she poured her energy into providing for her cherished son, Xander Richolson, whom she considered her greatest accomplishment. Her love for him was boundless and unwavering. Gifted with creativity and imagination, MaKenzie was a talented crafter known for designing custom shirts and tumblers. From an early age, she dreamed big and often told her parents she would "hit it big one day." She had a gentle spirit that touched everyone around her. MaKenzie enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing pool, swimming, and caring for animals. Her vibrant personality and kind heart made her truly one of a kind.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Don and Peggy Jenkins; paternal grandfather Phillip J. Richolson Jr.; bonus grandmother Lois Harvill; aunt Sabrina Jones; and cousin Michael B. Isbell.

She is survived by her son, Xander Richolson; parents Lance and Kara Sue Richolson; mother Misty Jenkins; significant other Josh Butcher and his children Khloe and JT; paternal grandmother Elise Dugan; bonus grandparents, Don and Louise Stephens and Don Stephens, Jr, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

A visitation for MaKenzie will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 5740 West 19th Street, Lubbock, TX 79407. A memorial service will follow on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Terry County Senior Citizens Center, 1201 Tahoka Rd., Brownfield, TX 79316.
