Kenneth was born 19 January, 1930 near Tulia, Texas. In 1948 he married Wanda Louise Horton in Edmondson, TX. He moved to San Diego, Ca in 1964 and joined the Lower Sweetwater Fire District where he achieved the rank of Assistant Chief and Fire Marshal, transferring to the Chula Vista Fire Dept and retiring in 1989. He was honored for his expertise in training firefighters. He was a member of the Sunset church of Christ.
Kenneth was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters, granddaughter Janae’ Alyson George and Son Ronald Dale George.
Survivors include his wife Louise; daughter La Donna Cothran and husband Jeff of San Diego; sons Kenneth Gene George Jr. and wife Kellie of Amarillo, TX, Brent George and Wife Amy of Lubbock, TX; 4 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Burial will be followed by a memorial service at Sunset Church of Christ in Lubbock on Sat, Aug 13, 2011, at 1 pm.
