Nanny, as she was affectionately called, was born on June 18, 1940, in San Angelo, Texas to Boyce (Skeets) and La Nell Albert (nee Russell). She grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas, graduating from Wichita Falls High School in 1958. She played violin in the Wichita Falls Sympathy Orchestra while still in high school. She later attended Angelo State University and Midwestern University.
On March 7, 1959, she married David Jackson Wylie in Monahans, Texas where they raised their two girls. They were active members of Third and Dwight Church of Christ for many years. Later in life, they moved to Royce City, Texas and eventually relocated to Lubbock to be closer to their girls. They celebrated 64 years of marriage before his death on October 12, 2023.
LaBoyce worked for MWP ISD in Monahans as the tax assessor-collector for several years. She started working as an area manager for the tax law firm Calame, Linebarger and Graham, and it became her lifelong career spanning over 30 years retiring in 2012.
She will be cherished by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her nieces and nephew. Every summer she and Dave would keep them for a week, and the kids all have fond memories of those days. Dave and LaBoyce loved going to Las Vegas and taking many trips there over the years. They probably visited every buffet that existed.
LaBoyce is survived by 2 daughters, Terri Trollinger, and husband, Ronnie of Lubbock; Sheri Franklin, and husband Rodney of Boerne, Texas. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Brandon, Shannon, Lauryn, Robyn, Katy and Austin and great grandchildren, Logan, Mason, Emily, Sydney, Whitley, Abigail, Sawyer, Forrest and Nora. She is also survived by her sister Janice Ratliff of Melissa, Texas, nephew Ryan, and nieces Courtney and Ashlee.
A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
