

Layuna Pauline Belbusti was born in Van Alystne, TX, on December 3, 1917 to James Homer Cromer and Harriett Magdalene Cromer. She passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the age of 101. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lubbock.
She graduated from Lubbock High School and Texas Tech. She worked as a map maker for the Army Air Core in WWII in Washington, DC. Later, she moved to Irving, TX, where she went to work at Chance Vaught Aircraft. She met Peter Belbusti at Chance Vaught whom she married in 1954. They were married until the time of his death in 2000.
Layuna was a talented artist and she loved her plants and flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Magdalene Cromer and three siblings, Harold Cromer, Thelma Speer Howell and Wendell Cromer. She is survived by two siblings, Robert Cromer and Frances Cavender, both of Lubbock, as well as nieces, nephews and their families.
A graveside Service will be held in her honor at 11am on Friday, May 31, 2019, at Resthaven Memorial Park, with Pastor Ken Carter of Southcrest Baptist Church officiating, followed by her interment. Please visit www.resthavenfuneralhome.com for online tributes.
