Lydia Gay Acuff

Lydia was born in Abilene Texas on June 24th 1961. She graduated from Midland High School, and received her Bachelors of Science in Geology from Texas Tech. Professionally she worked several years for a Midland oil company, then after moving to Lubbock, for Texas Instruments. On January 10th, 1983, she married David Acuff, the one and only love of her life.

Everything she set out to do, she did with all her might as unto the Lord. Lydia was baptized into Christ at the age of nine, and dedicated her life from that point forward to Him. She devoted several hours a day to the study of God's Word. Her favorite and most important job was raising and homeschooling her three children. Because of her passion for God's wonderful creation, she loved to work in her garden, take care of the family pets, and study geology.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Albert and Faye Lee. Surviving to cherish her memory are her loving husband David; sons, Daniel and Ethan; daughter, Sarah; two grandsons; sisters, Brenda Olive and Robbie Vail; brother, Roger Lee; and seven nieces, four nephews, several cousins and other loving family members.
