Martha Darene Brannon

April 12, 1941 – September 18, 2024

A Celebration of Life for M. Darene Brannon, 83, of Lubbock, Texas will be held at graveside at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Resthaven Memorial Park, Lubbock, Texas.

A visitation will be held Monday, September 23, 2024 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, Lubbock, Texas.

Darene went to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at home in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on April 12, 1941 to Ivy Thomas and Meta Lee Huddleston. Darene graduated from Lubbock High School in 1959. She married Donald L. Brannon on October 27, 1961 at Skyline Baptist Church, in Lubbock, Texas, and would have celebrated their 63rd anniversary next month. She taught Sunday School and Girls in Action for many years. Darene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved having her family around and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandson.

Darene is survived by her husband, Don Brannon; her children, Dave Brannon and wife, Janyth of Ropes, Texas; Dean Brannon and wife, Jennifer of New Deal, Texas; Daphne Brannon of Lubbock, Texas; and Doug Brannon and wife, Emily of Lubbock, Texas, and, her grandchildren, Drew and wife, Morgan, Bethany and husband, Kevin, Annabeth, Sawyer, Jake, Ben, Cooper; and great-grandson, Odin. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and baby sister.

Darene loved the Lord and has passed on a legacy of love to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. She always welcomed everyone into our home, and no one ever left hungry. She was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
