Melanie was born on Feb. 17. 1955 in Wichita Falls, TX to Billy and Minalee Smith. She graduated from Permian High school in 1973 where she was the President of The Pepettes. She received her degree in education from Texas Tech in 1979. She married Brian Sanderson from Springlake, TX on June 9, 1978. She was a loving wife, mother, and Nana always putting the needs of others before her own. She had a warm smile and a big heart. Her sweet spirit will be missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Brian Sanderson; her daughter, Emily DiDonna, and Heather Sanderson; son Matthew Sanderson; granddaughter, Valerie Sanderson; mother, Minalee Smith; brother David Smith and wife, Karen; and a host of friends and family.
