

We are heartbroken to share the passing of Nicholas Nathaniel Byrne, lovingly known as Nick, of Lubbock, Texas. Nick passed away on February 9, 2026, at the age of 38.
Nick was born on March 20, 1987, in Odessa, Texas, to Mike Byrne and Carla Lewis. From an early age, Nick was known for his kind heart and his deep love for others. He found great happiness in fishing, playing basketball, and spending time with the people he cared about most.
Nick attended Odessa High School and began his career in the oilfield industry in 2004. Above all else, Nick was a devoted and loving father. He welcomed his son, Jaxtyn Byrne, in 2014 and his daughter, Raevyn Byrne, in 2015. His children were his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Horace and Beatrice Byrne, and Barbara Brown, his cousin Aaron Hoffman and his uncle Matt Byrne.
Left to cherish his Legacy is his son Jaxtyn Byrne, and daughter Raevyn Byrne. He is also survived by his mother, Carla Lewis, father Mike and Vickie (Wife) Byrne; his siblings, Matt and Arron Lewis, Angie and Cory Westbrook (Husband), and Sara Lewis, Aunts and Uncles; Charlotte Burt and Larry Burt, Gwen Penn; and Kim and Dave McCormick, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Nick will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. We invite anyone who knew Nick to share a memory or photo — your stories mean more than words can say.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Nick’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project, reflecting his deep love for people and his country.
Funeral services will be held on February 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home, 5740 W. 19th Street, Lubbock, TX 79407.
