

To chronicle her life, it was one that was lived to the fullest; it was a life filled with love for her family, friends and strangers she met along her life journey. She moved to Acuff, TX. and graduated from Roosevelt High School playing on the girls’ basketball team and supporting the school as a cheerleader. “Babe” as she was known to her family, assisted her family farming in Acuff before marrying Gerald Edward Beauchamp on August 6, 1949. The couple met while she was working at the South Plains Army Air Field Lubbock, TX. where she painted insignias on the aircraft during WWII. The couple resided in Milwaukee, WI. before moving back to Lubbock, TX. in Nov. 1949. Before owning her own business for many years, Norma Beauchamp Interiors, she worked for Ann Hubbard Decorator’s Studio. Additionally, she worked as a bookkeeper for a local builder and for Southwestern Public Service. She led her children’s scouting groups as a troop leader for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America. She served as a room mother for her children’s elementary classes. An avid bowler throughout her life she won trophies and awards at both the state and national levels. She was in the Hall of Fame, a life member, and a charter member of the LWBA. She held several offices as a member of the Woman’s International Bowling Congress including director and Sargeant at Arms. She mentored many bowlers in the youth bowling leagues as well as her children and grandchildren. She was the president of the TX State Auxiliary National Association of Postal Supervisors. She was a talented gardener. She was a member of the John Wesley Sunday School Class at the Lubbock St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
Norma was preceded in death by her son, Leslie James Beauchamp; her parents; two sisters, Verna Lee McCarver, Lorene Anderson; and three brothers, Lynn Crossland, Carl Crossland and Beryl Crossland.
Survivors include her husband; daughter, Janis V. Campbell and husband Dr. Samuel J. Campbell of Lubbock, TX; son, Edward G. Beauchamp and wife Cindy of Arlington, TX; granddaughter, Sara E. Campbell JD MLIS, grandsons, Dr. Thomas B. Campbell and wife, Jenna, Bryce E. Beauchamp and wife Haley, and Corbin B. Beauchamp; two great granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Quinn; great grandson, Jackson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Service will be at 10:00 am on Monday, September 25, 2017 in Lubbock St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 3708-45th Street with Dr. Andy Hurst, Senior Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
