Services for Opal Patterson Meeks, 92, of Lubbock, for-merly of Morton, will be held at 10 am Tuesday, November 1, 2011, in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven. Mrs. Meeks went to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 30th.
Opal was born on Oct 1, 1919, in Soper, Oklahoma to Edward and Rachel Patterson. She graduated High School in Slaton and later from Drau-ghan’s Business School. She married W.L. Meeks, on July 26, 1941. She had been em-ployed with Morton ISD and South Plains Electric Coop, retiring in 1982.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.L. and a son, Kenneth.
Survivors include a son, Greg and wife, Beverly of Lub-bock; a daughter, Becky Tarver and husband, Michael of Allen; a brother, Don Patterson of Alameda, California; four grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
