Pat Rockne Casey

Pat Rockne Casey departed this life on December 10, 2020. He was born on May 3, 1934, to Alvro and Juanita Casey in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was very proud of his Creek/Cherokee Indian heritage. Pat graduated from Denver City High School, where he excelled in football and basketball for the Mustangs. He also graduated from UTEP in El Paso with a degree in History and PE. Pat then spent the next 38 years coaching and teaching. He went on and furthered his education while teaching and coaching in Alpine, Texas, by earning his Masters in School Administration from Sul Ross State University. While attending Denver City High School, he met and married Geba Richardson in 1952. They had three children and a good life together before she preceded him in death in 1988. He later married Betty Nitka. They enjoyed 27 years of adventures and laughter along the way.Pat was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; oldest son, Michael, and his brother, Eli.Survivors include his wife, Betty; son, Dennis (Carol) Casey; daughter Patricia (Brent) Shaw; daughter-in-law, Olga Casey; grandchildren, Bradley, Bryan, Ashley, Hannah, Peyton, and Grant; five great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy; two stepdaughters, Ann (Charles) Johnson and Sharon (Alfredo) Suarez; two step-grandchildren; former daughter-in-law, Renee Casey; and sister-in-law, Ann Berry. There are no services planned and interment will take place later in the Spring in Corpus Christi, TX.
