Pauline Dynese Durbin

Services for Pauline Dynese Durbin will be held on Friday, March 24th, 2023 at 1 o’clock in the afternoon at 12th Street Church of Christ Shallowater, Texas. Pauline won her reward and finished her earthly journey on Monday, March 20, 2023, after a long and productive life in which she touched the lives of everyone she met.

Pauline was born on September 1st, 1930, in Noodle, Texas. to Paul Everett and Edith May Wheeler. She graduated from Merkel High School, in Merkel Texas, and married Algie Lee Durbin on February 28th, 1948. Pauline worked at the watch factory in Abilene while Al attended Abilene Christian College and went on to be a dedicated wife, homemaker, and mother. She was very involved in the Church of Christ and spent many of her 92 years working within the church in any way that was needed. Until her health declined, she worked with the card ladies at 12th Street Church of Christ, sending cards on a weekly basis, to express sympathy, give encouragement, and acknowledge accomplishments of members and their families. Pauline loved her church family and often stated that being at church was the best place you could ever be. She deeply missed worship when it became too difficult to attend.

She is preceded in death by husband, Algie Lee Durbin, son Jimmy Lee Durbin, brother Ed Wheeler, and sister Drue Wendt.

She is survived by; sister, Pat Ball of Abilene, Texas; son, Jerry Alan Durbin and wife Reba of Kerrville, Texas; daughter, Julie Parks and husband Mike of Shallowater, Texas; and daughter-in-law Linda Willis of Lubbock, Texas. Pauline has 6 grandchildren; Amanda Hardin and husband Bryan of Shallowater, Texas; Greg Durbin of Kerrville, Texas; Aaron Durbin of Lubbock, Texas; Lauren Crum and husband Ty of Shallowater, Texas; Caitlyn Heald and husband Travis of Shallowater, Texas; and Logan Parks of Shallowater, Texas. She was also blessed with 6 great grandsons.

A visitation for Pauline will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 5:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 5740 West 19th St, Lubbock, TX. A funeral service will occur Friday, March 24, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at 12th Street Church of Christ, 1001 12th St, Shallowater, TX 79363. A graveside service will occur Friday, March 24, 2023 at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery, 5740 West 19th St, Lubbock, TX.
