Peggy Cain

Peggy was born in Petersburg, TX on May 7, 1935 to Ferris and Ruby Sutherland Clift. After living for a time in Petersburg the family moved to Lubbock where Peggy attended Lubbock High School. During high school Peggy met Leonard Cain. After graduating from Lubbock High School in 1954 she attended Texas Tech University.

Leonard and Peggy were married January 27, 1956. She was a dedicated and loving mother to her three children. She greatly enjoyed her family, playing cards, oil painting, and especially decorating her home. Leonard and Peggy where members at the Broadway Church of Christ where she continued to be a servant of the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Gary Lee and Michael Lee Cain and her parents.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Cain of Plainview; a son, Lee Cain and wife, Randa of Minneapolis, Minnesota; a sister, Robbie Clift of Lubbock; grandchildren, Hunter Cain, Lauren Porter and husband Justin, and Brandon Gage, all of Lubbock, and Tiffany Sallee of Shallowater; eight great grandchildren and many loving family members and friends.

The family will be receiving friends today at Resthaven from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Memorials are suggested to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Hospice of Lubbock, or the donor’s favorite charity.
