Peggy devoted her life to education, both as a junior high teacher in Lubbock public schools and for approximately 40 years as an elementary Sunday School teacher at Oakwood Baptist Church and later One Accord Fellowship. Peggy lived Matthew 19:14 in which Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.”
She is survived by her husband; her son, Jason Wilcox, and wife Rachel of Coppell, Texas; her two granddaughters both residing in Dallas, Texas; Anna Wilcox Thompson, and husband Kobe Steele Thompson, and Sophia Elizabeth Wilcox. She was known to her granddaughters as Granny.
Peggy was sweet, gentle, classy and smart. She loved her family, her church, her neighbors and those she taught.
A memorial service will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock on Wednesday, January 8 at 2:00 pm followed by visitation and fellowship.
