He was a man who loved deeply, encouraged frequently, laughed often, and was a faithful servant of God until the very end. Daniel V. Trujillo Sr., 66, of Lubbock, TX, he died at home in his sleep on February 16, 2024.
He was born in Carlsbad, NM in 1957. He found himself abandoned and alone as a child. He learned early on to be street smart, be handy, and depend solely on himself. Very much like the Amish, he was schooled until 8th grade and became very business-savvy. He was a life learner and was very knowledgeable, especially of the Bible, God’s Holy Word, upon which he built his life after being born again and completely transformed on January 22, 1975.
Daniel was a dedicated father to five children: Yvonne Trujillo, Daniel Trujillo Jr., Jonathan Trujillo, Tabitha Rice, and Yvette Salinas. He was a faithful family man.
Christ’s love penetrated his soul, which enabled him to have love toward his children’s spouses. With an agape love, he welcomed them into his family as his own children, calling each with the title of son or daughter: Amy Trujillo, Yannick Rice, Geronimo Salinas Jr., and Danielle Mae Seabolt.
His good name continues through his 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, whom he loved deeply: Julian Bravo and Jadon Trujillo were the first of his grandkids born to Yvonne, where she raised them in his home, and they became like sons to him, Clarissa Lynette Rodriguez, Jayden Lee Nunez, Ellie Deyanira Trujillo, and Braylen Daniel Trujillo are the children of Daniel Jr., Seth Donaldson and Jonathan Trujillo Jr. are the children of Jonathan and Amy. Rina Rice, Evan Rice and Micah Rice born to Yannick and Tabitha, plus one baby, named Bow, still being fashioned by God in the womb, Geronimo Salinas III., Joslynn Salinas, and James Salinas born to Geronimo Jr. and Yvette. His only great grandchild at the time is Ella Mae Trujillo born to Julian Bravo and Danielle Mae Seabolt. Speaking to and spending time with his grandkids brought healing to his body, lifted his spirit, and put a smile on his face.
Since the day of his rebirth in Jesus Christ, Daniel was a minister of God’s word, the Holy Bible. He shared with all the way to everlasting life and the way to escape eternal damnation in hell through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. During his time in ministry he found himself in South America where he grew a deep love for the people. His heart, until the day of his passing into eternal light, was with South America and the spiritual family he had found there.
Everyone who knew Daniel knew how much he loved being silly, how he loved to laugh, and encourage others. He expected excellence and delivered kindness to all.
Daniel is survived by Maria Trujillo, Yvonne Trujillo, Julian Bravo, Danielle Mae Seabolt, Ella Mae Trujillo, Jadon Trujillo, Daniel Trujillo Jr., Clarissa Lynette Rodriguez, Jayden Lee Nunez, Ellie Deyanira Trujillo, Braylen Daniel Trujillo, Jonathan Trujillo, Amy Trujillo, Seth Donaldson, Jonathan Trujillo Jr., Tabitha Rice, Yannick Rice, Rina Rice, Evan Rice, Micah Rice, Bow Rice, Yvette Salinas, Geronimo Salinas Jr., Geronimo Salinas III, Joslynn Salinas, and James Salinas.
