Roy V. Wilson LUBBOCK-Roy Vance Wilson, 86, of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, in Resthaven Abbey Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Friends may pay their respects on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. as they wish.
Roy was born on Sept. 11, 1927, in Lone Wolf, Okla. Roy served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1947. Roy retired from Southwestern Public Service in 1988 after 40 years of service. He served others through the church, leading by example as a Boy Scout Troop leader and a Deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; daughters, Cindy and husband Hal Volcek of Richardson, and Kim of Lubbock; grandsons, Wilson and Randall Villegas of Austin; and brother, Leland Wilson of San Marcos. He loved people, especially children, and was exceptionally proud of his grandsons.
