She was born in Henrietta, OK on December 07, 1920 to the late Robert and Anna Ruth (Garber) Hummer.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, David.
She is survived by her children, Mindy Newby (Vallecitos,NM), Meredith Carson (Denver,CO), Marcia Brenden (Dixon,NM) and Steven and Pamela (Petty) Newby (Las Cruces,NM); five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1PM, Saturday, February 14th, at Neil Chapel in the Carillon Community at 1717 Norfolk in Lubbock, with reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered in her name to the South Plains Food Bank (SPFB.ORG), a cause she held close to her heart.
