Sandra "Sandy" Rinehart

Sandy was born on December 27,1944 in Galveston, Texas to Jesse Edward Slocum and Eleanor White Slocum. She was proceeded in death by her daughter Kristi Wright Perkins, her father Jesse Edward Slocum and her mother Eleanor White Slocum. She is survived by her husband Robert Rinehart; stepson Justin Rinehart and wife Dasha, granddaughter Brooke Rinehart, grandson Vaughn Rinehart and granddaughter Dallas Rinehart; and stepson Travis Rinehart and wife Kim, and granddaughter Danica Rinehart. She also is survived by her sister Judy McGrory and husband Pat of Georgetown, Texas, brother Denman Slocum and wife Mary of Birmingham, Alabama, and niece Kelsey Blair and husband Austin of Birmingham, Alabama.

Sandy graduated from Ball High School in Galveston, Texas in 1963. She worked for the University of Texas Medical Branch and for American Indemnity Insurance Company in Galveston, Texas.

Sandy moved to Lubbock, Texas in mid-1970s where she worked for White Pump Service, The Sport Haus, Lubbock Temporary Personnel Service and Gene Messer Ford, where she won Employee of the Month for December 2001 and Outstanding Employee for 2001.

Sandy loved to sew and create jewelry and she fashioned handmade gifts for family and friends. She loved pets and had numerous throughout her years in Lubbock, Texas.

After retirement, Sandy loved making jewelry as well as working in the garden and taking care of her flowers.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Monday, August 25, 2025 at Resthaven Funeral Home's Abbey Chapel with interment following in Resthaven Memorial Park.
