

Sherlyn “Sherry” Fishback Canon, 70, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 15. Sherlyn was born to the late Loyd and Mildred Fishback in Lubbock, TX on April 27, 1946. She was the youngest of seven and the only daughter. She was preceded in death by her six brothers: Donald, Darrell, Bennie, Jack, Carlton, and Harold.
Sherry owned and operated Ford’s Ice Cream and Sherry’s Corner in Levelland. She also worked for American State Bank for nine years. Her hobbies included art, painting, and watching the Rangers games. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shallowater.
She is survived by her four children: Kristi Crouch and husband, Johnny of Levelland, son Mitchell Townsley, Ronda Johnson and husband, Harvey of Nocona, son Michael Middlebrooks and wife, Cara of Pennsylvania; grandchildren: Christopher Crouch, Joshua and K’wyn Lawson, Amy and Kirk Clark, Mackenzie Johnson, Lilah Middlebrooks, Russell Middlebrooks, and great-granddaughter, Kenslee Clark.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation, or Hockley County Senior Citizens Center, 1202 Houston, Levelland, TX or charity of your choice.
