Services for Sturgis “Arthur” Hall, 94, of Lubbock, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, in Resthaven Mausoleum Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow. Mr. Hall passed away on Thursday, Feb 10th in the State Veteran’s Home in Big Spring.
Arthur was born on Nov 6, 1916 in Bishop, TX to Arthur Clarence and Ruby Bristow Hall. He married Ruth Arlene Singleterry on Nov 25, 1939 in Clovis, NM. He served in the US Army during WWII and was a participant in the Invasion of Normandy on D-Day, and the Battle of the Bulge. He had been employed by the Santa Fe Railroad prior to becoming an independent paint contractor. He had been a resident of Lubbock since 1975, and had lived in Clovis and Levelland.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1997; his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
He is survived by one brother, Joe C. Hall of Hamlin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
