

Sybil played guitar and sang on local radio station as a young girl. She had a beautiful voice which was trained by professionals and continued her love of singing through OL Slaton Junior High school and Lubbock Senior High.
Sybil graduated from Lubbock High School, a proud Westerner who cheered on her future husband, William A. Hallmark, "Billy", during high school football seasons and 4A state championship in 1952. They had 29 consecutive wins which at the time was a record for West Texas high school football.
She was a member of Tri Delta Theta Society and graduated from the University of Texas Austin receiving a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1960. She married William Hallmark in the First Baptist Church Chapel in Lubbock July 2, 1960. They had two sons, Stephen Bennet and William Gregory and eventually moved to Clear Lake NASA where both sons graduated from Clear Lake High School. She taught Kindergarten and 1st grade at the St. Thomas School in Nassau Bay, TX. For several years, she had the honor of getting to know and educating several of the Astronaut's children.
Sybil moved from teaching and became assistant and interior designer for custom home builder Dub Kelly of Kustom Kastle's and later Wayne Bopp of Frontier homes, & Friendswood Development. She studied at The Parsons School of Design/Decorative Art Program in Paris, France and is a recognized Interior Designer, and is a member of Lubbock ASID in both the states of Texas and Colorado.

1992 Winner of the Greater Houston Builders Association, PRISM Award for Custom Home of the Year.
1989 Houston Street of Dreams - Bay Oaks. Best of Show Award.

Sybil has been co-owner and Partner with Husband Bill with Appraisal Services of Telluride,
LLC, Telluride CO. since 2003. She specialized and has assisted in the valuation of Interior Design elements to scores of custom homes in Telluride and Mountain Village, CO and throughout the Western Slope of Colorado; with some home values exceeding $40 million dollars
Sybil was elected as the manager of the LJB Marion LLC, a 562-acre cotton farm in Lubbock, TX. She has managed a successful farming operation since 2013.
For many years, Sybil and her husband, Bill, hosted and held Easter Sunrise Services at their beautiful home near Telluride for the Episcopal Church, overlooking scenic Ouray County, Colorado. People liked to look over the cliffs to the valley below. Sybil would tell the story of when asked, if she liked the view from the house they were thinking of buying, she stated, 'YES', because her parents, JB and Leola Marion drove her and sister Shirley over the million dollar highway for summer vacations in the 1950's, and, 'I can still see them, from those golden times, from here.'
Sybil and Bill have traveled extensively over the years in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Africa and Europe, where they returned several times.
Sybil Sue Marion Hallmark is survived by: her husband of 63 years and 7 years of courtship, William A. Hallmark. Her son: Stephen B. Hallmark of Clear Lake City, TX., his wife Cindy Stonestreet Hallmark
and two grandchildren, Connor Hallmark 28, and Claire Hallmark, 27. Her son, William G. Hallmark of Ridgway, CO
.
Sybil was one of a kind; she was the light in any room she entered. In addition, everyone who knew her adored her. She is one in a million and we honor her presence, as it will never leave us.
