

Jeff Franks, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on April 15, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. Jeff was born on December 22, 1964, in Odessa, Texas, to Tommy Franks and Diane Woosley Sides. He grew up in Odessa and Amarillo and graduated from Permian High School in 1983. He later went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Texas Permian Basin in 1995. After completing his education, he moved to Lubbock with his wife, Cynthia.
Jeff spent 30 years working in the automobile and lending industries. He began his career in the car business, where he worked for 21 years. He later moved into banking and served as an officer in indirect lending at Amarillo National Bank. He was a dedicated man who took pride in his career.
Jeff was a devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle, and a man who cared deeply for both his family and his community. He served as an Ambassador for the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Youth Orchestras of Lubbock Board of Directors. He also supported the Frenship High School Band Boosters through his service on the Grill Team, Front Ensemble Moving Crew, and as parliamentarian for the Booster Board. He faithfully attended Trinity Church for the past 20 years.
Jeff enjoyed music, golfing, spending time with friends, mentoring others, and playing Star Trek Fleet Command. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, dedication, and the steady way he showed up for the people in his life.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Franks; his sons, Colby Franks and Garrett Franks; his sister, Tracye Franks; her children, Makayla Cross and Jayden Cross; as well as Cynthia’s family, Joyce McCormick, Chris Varela, Teresa Avery, Barbra Pence, Treavor Pence, and Triston Pence.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Franks, and his mother, Diane Woosley Sides.
The family would like to thank all those who have sent food, flowers, kind words, and shared great stories and encouragement during this difficult time.
A memorial of his life will be held at Trinity Church, 7002 Canton Avenue, Lubbock, Texas 79413, on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM with a reception following. Friends and family are also invited to attend a time of visitation on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 6:00-8:00pm at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, 6025 82nd Street, Lubbock, TX 79424.
Jeff will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
