Tobie Jean Bailey

She was born in Brownwood, Texas on June, 27, 1941 and was a graduate of Brownwood High School and Texas Tech University.

On June 30, 1962, she married Jerry Bailey and they would have celebrated 64 years of marriage this year. She retired from State Farm Insurance after twenty years of service.

Tobie was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church, Lubbock Women’s Club, Lubbock Country Club, and Lubbock Symphony Guild. She loved parties, celebrations, dancing, crossword puzzles, playing Mah Jongg, and all things Texas Tech.

Survivors include her husband, daughter Jana Bailey, son Kevin, his wife Laura, granddaughter Brooke Kleinman (Britton), and grandson Kristopher.

The family wants to thank the entire medical teams of Covenant Medical Center 5th floor MICU and 7th floor Palliative Care, for the extraordinary compassion that was shown to Tobie. A very special thanks are extended to Dr. Brad Snodgrass, Dr. Kiran Yalamanchili, Dr. Donald Quick, and the entire team at Joe Arrington Cancer Center, from valet parking to the medical staff.

And lastly, thank you to Nancy Rendon and Tina Trevino for loving and caring for our parents these last few years. We love you and you are part of our family forever.

A celebration of Tobie’s life will be held at a later date at First United Methodist Church.
