Vera Joretta Maner

Joretta Palmer Maner left this world on April 4, 2014. She was born August 9, 1932 in Tulia, Texas to Vera and Joe Palmer. She married Jack Maner on July 11, 1953. Joretta graduated from Tulia High School and from Lubbock Memorial School of Nursing. She was an RN at Methodist Hospital nursery for many years. She loved those babies! She went to work for Dr Burkholder in the 80’s and later worked for Dr Al Alami until her retirement. Joretta was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was very active and supportive of the ministry.

Joretta was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Jatonne; son James; sisters Delores Maner and Maxine Svoboda. She is survived by her husband, Jack; son Jay and wife Marilyn; daughter-in-law Angelia; brother-in-law Clinton and wife Jettie; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many special friends.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Mittal, Shirley McReynolds and Nyki Maddigan.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, April 7, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Resthaven Funeral Home. Services will be Tuesday April 8 at 2:00 pm in Calvary Baptist Church with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
