Beth Jones, 84, of Lubbock passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, with her husband and daughter by her side, on July 12, 2018. Beth enjoyed church worship and her Helping Hands Sunday School class at Calvary Baptist Church, until she could no longer attend, due to health issues. Beth was an avid reader, and enjoyed doing counted cross-stitch, of which many stitcheries line the hallway in the home she shared with her husband and daughter.
Beth was born March 27, 1934 in Lawton, OK to D.T. and Josephine Mayo; the family moved to Chickasha, OK when Beth was a baby. Beth graduated from Chickasha High School in 1952.
Beth married the love of her life, Bobby Jones on September 4, 1953. They were fortunate to have been married 64 years.
Survivors include husband, Bobby and daughter, Donna, of Lubbock, TX; son Kirby Jones and wife Cindy, of Humble, TX; granddaughter Christine Jordan and husband, James of Houston,TX; great-grandchildren Jessica, Hannah and Aaron Jordan of Houston; grandson Zachary and wife Casey, of Huffman, TX; great-grandchildren Jake, Ella and Baby Jones arriving in October, of Huffman. Other survivors include nephew, John Lambert, of San Antonio, TX; niece Stephanie Doan and family of Blanchard, OK; several cousins who were a part of Beth's life during her teenage and early adult years.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Linda Mayo.
Beth was a loving and supportive wife, Mom, Memaw and friend to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed, but our family was so fortunate to have had her loving us for many wonderful years.
Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home on Wed., July 25 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The funeral will be at Calvary Baptist Church in Lubbock, 5301 82nd Street, on Thurs., July 26 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, OK on Fri., July 27, 2018 at 5:00PM.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Barker, Gene Beck, Richard Jones, Warren Kelley, Larry O'Neill, and Dan Rich.
