Wayland B Ethridge

Wayland attended Muleshoe High School and graduated in 1957. He later went on to obtain a bachelor's in business administration and a Master of Education in English from West Texas State University and an Administrators Certification from Texas Tech.

Wayland then began his career in Friona, TX in 1961 working for Friona ISD where he taught English and journalism for 3 years then in 1964, he started at Muleshoe ISD where he was the high school administrator for 26 years.

Wayland married Janet in Afton, TX on June 5,1964, and had two children, Kristi and Steven. Wayland had a passion for music & singing, Gospel Music and Quartet singing. He will always be remembered for his devotion to helping young people.

Wayland is survived by his wife Janet Ethridge and their children Kristi Ethridge of Lubbock and Steven Ethridge and his daughter in law Linda of the United Kingdom and by two grandchildren Katherine Soon of New York and Matthew Soon of Amarillo, TX.

Wayland is preceded in death by his brother Rev. Ronnie Ethridge and his parents Ralph& Lois Ethridge.

The Family has elected to not have a Funeral Service for Wayland and will hold a small family Memorial which will be held at a later date.
