She was born the 8th of 11 children on November 8, 1937 to the late Grover G. and “Effie” Alma Willeford Flinn in Abernathy, TX.
Wilda grew up on the family farm and attended New Deal ISD. She participated in sports and several activities, but Future Homemakers of America was her passion.
She graduated May 17, 1956. A strong supporter of New Deal, she organized class reunions for many years of multiple classes, not just 1956. New Deal Ex-students Association honored her for her devotion and service. After graduating high school she moved to Lubbock. She attended and graduated from Merriman Business College February 10, 1957.She then worked for the Lubbock Gas Company.
On October 21, 1961 she married Bill Myers of Alturas, California. They raised their family in Lubbock. She was a homemaker taking care of the children and home for 43 years. She ran her own home day care for almost 20 years helping raise 100+ children. She took care of Bill while he was treated for Myasthenia Gravis from 1982-2004.
Wilda is survived by her children: Rhonda (Guinn) Turner of Leakey, Texas; Diane Myers and Betty Cox, both of Corpus Christi, Texas; Michael of Reno, Nevada; Kelvin (Trena) Myers, Loretta Holder, Billy Doyle and Devin Myers all of Lubbock, Texas. She is also survived by one sister, Donnell (James) of Katy, Texas; 8 grandsons, 8 granddaughters, 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was a Mom, Grandma, and Mammaw that brought so much joy and laughter to so many lives.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, and 5 sisters.

The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 5pm-8pm. Wilda’s life will be celebrated at 12:30pm on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Kenny Venable and Gary Flinn officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
