Maggie L. Jenkins

She was the wife of Horace Jenkins, with whom she had shared sixty-six years of her life after being married in June of 1954.

Maggie was born on June 3, 1937, to Hubert and Margaret Carr. Maggie retired from Movie Star Garment Factory as a very talented seamstress. She was a woman of faith and regularly attended True Vine Baptist Mission, where she was a member and where her son was pastor. She loved to drink coffee and would always make coffee anytime her children or grandchildren would stop by, which was every day. Her favorite place to sit was in her kitchen, where she could look out of a window to see when anyone would stop by. She also loved hers and Horace's dog, Scooter, whom they had for many years before he passed away.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hubert and Margaret Carr; five sisters, Doyle Deloach, Helen Boone, Jen Mooney, Chris Ellis, and Hazel Marie; one brother, J. W. Carr; one grandchild, Kenneth Russell Collins; and one son-in-law, Russell Collins.

She is survived by her husband, Horace Jenkins; her children Horace Ray, Michael (Denise), and Patricia Collins; two brothers George Carr and Billy Carr; six grandchildren Jeffrey, Tara, Leigh Anne, Samantha, Clay (Torie), and Noah; nine great-grandchildren Sarah, Nathan, McKayla, Russell, Dakota, Caleb, Karis, Drew, and Logan; and a grand-daughter-in-law Michelle Collins.

Funeral services will be held at White Funeral Home (102 N 1st Street, Lumberton, MS, 39455) on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until services, Saturday at the funeral home.
