Mr. Harry James Smith Cummins Sr.

Harry James Smith Cummins, Sr age 74 passed away at 12:57 am on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at his residence in Convent. He was a graduate of Saint Aloysuis High School and Soule Business College. He was a foreman for Freeport Chemical Company for 25 years. He was a member of St. Michael’s Church.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Ann Melancon Cummins. Four children ; Harry James Cummins, Jr. of Destrehan, La, Barry James Cummins and his wife, Iris Henry Cummins of LaPlace, La, Connie Cummins Duplechin of Gramercy, La and Brian Michael Cummins and his wife, Mary Ellen Ardineaux Cummins of El Dorado Hills, Ca. One brother, Louis A. Cummins, Jr. of Slidell, La. Four grandchildren; Daniel Joseph Duplechin, Jr., Lacy Joan Duplechin, Jake Michael Duplechin and Barry James Cummins, Jr and one great-grandson, Archer Gannon Duplechin and one step-grandson, Maverick Adams.

He was preceded in death by her parents; Louis Anthony Cummins, Sr. and Gladys Marguerite Mahaffey.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 from 9:15 am until 10:45 am at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Convent. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am from the church with Fr. Vincent Dufresne officiant. Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.
